Business TipsThese recommendations will now share arise from reading an article I found that I read and based on the experience of more than three years in building and maintaining websites.

The initial question would be: When was the last time you read your own website? Last time we looked at each page, click on each link and read every word?

If it’s been a long time, it is probably time to update the contents of your site and appearance. Here is seven steps to keep in good shape the website or blog of your business:

1. Simplification. Back to basics, look at every page of your site and ask yourself what action you want visitors to take to navigate, make a list of actions to recommend. Whatever it was, make a recommendation only detacada (or two at most per page) when recommending an action. Too many choices cause confusion and helps your visitors want to get out.

2. Solve problems. Broken links, images not displaying properly, etc.. that way the site looks chaotic or neglected. Take time to review each page, repair faults and ensure that the information is accurate, the links work well and link images appear correctly.

3. Get a makeover. If your site has not received a new look in several years, you may begin to look dated, you know everything that is dynamic and not stagnant smells good. Customers get bored and feel that nothing new is happening in your company. Consider a new design that reflects your company’s current direction and attitude of renewal.

4. Add news and stories. A good idea is to start putting press releases or stories of experiences with clients or information that adds value and publish your site. When visitors navigate through it, you’ll see and feel these statements is that your business stays active and cares about providing quality content to your visitors.

5. Update the About page. The page “About” is the second most visited page of any site, which means that this is an important page and you have to put a friendly and amicable ‘Face’ of your company. Rewrite to include fresh news of the company, awards, new products introduced, hours open offices or new team members who have joined.

6. The Blog. If your business website does not have a blog, your site is almost dead and you have a blog that has not been updated in three months or more, it’s time for a serious upgrade. Blogs can drive new prospects to your site, make the search engines to index and potential customers find you more easily. Start the blog again if you want to succeed on the net, post at least once a week.

7. Do not be mysterious. I visit many websites daily business, and in a few is very difficult to find how to contact owners or representatives. For example the phone number, addresses, contact names, product descriptions and the hours are hard to find or missing altogether. Check your site to see if your vital information is readily available. Place contact details with larger fonts, higher, and visible on every page of your site, not limited only to the ‘Contact’, with only one form.
